The Italian Dante Alighieri left behind the indescribably great treasure of his masterpiece "The Divine Comedy", in which he describes his fictional journey alongside Virgil through hell all the way up to paradise. Dante created this work as a warning to the living of his time.
In her new version, Anja Panse once again sends Dante on a journey through the nine circles of hell.
Dante is resigned because his commedia has not had the desired effect on people's behaviour. So he dares to try again. Dante surprises a Berlin politician and whisks her away on an infernal trip through the underworld. What awaits her there goes beyond the realms of imagination. Many famous and infamous personalities cross her path. The rage of the people through their dark deeds is revealed, as is their influence on our lives today.
